Hydraulic Model Cars Experiment

ABSTRACT

I have been building a 1962 Pontiac Catalina and a 1964 Chevy Impala car models since November 26, 2001. Ordinary cars have one motor, however, hydraulic cars may have up to six motors. The models I like to put together are called hydraulic model cars and are made to resemble the real hydraulic cars. My models have wires that hook up to a 9-volt rechargeable battery and some control buttons. When the buttons are pushed, the car hops. This feature is what makes hydraulic cars very different from or other model cars. The buttons are connected to the wires, to the motor, and to the batteries. The 1962 Catalina and the 1964 Impala models will be displayed for this science project.

My hypothesis the smaller the hopper spring (with added springs), the lower the car would go. The bigger the hopper spring (with added springs), the higher the car would go. The results showed that my hypothesis was correct.

A website of my science fair project is available at Hydraulic Cars that Rock!.
